Dar Si Hmad for Development, Education and Culture is an independent nonprofit organization founded in 2010 promoting local culture and sustainable initiatives through education and the integration of scientific ingenuity in Southwest Morocco. We operate North Africa's largest fog harvesting project, providing villages with access to potable water. Our Water School and Girls' E-Learning Programs build capacity in the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Through our Ethnographic Field School, researchers and students engage with local communities in Agadir, Sidi Ifni, and the rural Aït Baamrane region for meaningful cross-cultural exchange.

Dar Si Hmad Receives Positive Recognition from the Crowd-Funding Platform "GlobalGiving"

Since last fall, Dar Si Hmad has used the crowd-funding platform "GlobalGiving" as a fundraising tool for our development projects in the countryside. We reached our goal of $5,000 for our first project on GloablGiving, "E-Learning Education for Rural Girls in Morocco," and have recently received positive recognition from the platform for our work. GlobalGiving gave our project report a rating of 4/5-Very Good. This rating enables our project report to appear on giving portals for global companies, allowing Dar Si Hmad and our projects to gain more visibility online.

Our pilot e-learning project in the small town of Mesti is close to completion. The girls are finishing their final exams while also participating in the last e-learning lessons before they return home for summer vacation. We are thankful for all the positive support from GlobalGiving and our friends and partners who have donated to this project. We look forward to making our e-learning platform sustainable for the girls in Mesti as they pursue further education in cities, as well as assisting new groups of students who enter the boarding school in the coming semesters.
